Look-alikes in British Columbia

A number of other species of Vaccinium are similar in appearance and yield blueberries, but differ in that the berries are coated with a thin whitish bloom that makes them appear blue rather than blackish.

See also thinleaf huckleberry, which has purplish black berries but differs in that the leaves are thin and the berries are unclustered.
