  • berries are bland to sweet, clustered 2-3
  • berry has 4-6 seeds
  • leaves are thin, papery, lack stems
  • plant is branched, grows to waist level

Look-alikes in British Columbia

The similar-looking largeflower fairybells (Prosartes smithii) also has edible berries. It differs in that the stems and leaves are relatively free of hair and smoother. In BC, it occurs only in the southern part of Vancouver Island.
