Five-leaved Bramble

  • berries are juicy, solitary atop stems
  • berry consists of 1-5 round drupelets
  • leaflets (5) are radially arranged
  • stems are thornless
  • creeping herb is under one foot high

Look-alikes in British Columbia

The similar-looking but uncommon roughfruit raspberry (Rubus lasiococcus) also produces edible berries. It differs most obviously in that the leaf is composed of three leaflets rather than five.
