Manzanita Bolete
- cap is fibrous, sticky when moist
- pores under cap are white to olive
- stem is dotted with dark scabers
- grows with manzanita, madrone

Look-alikes in California
The edible but less common Leccinum insigne has a similar appearance. It differs most obviously in that it grows in association with aspens and fruits in the summer or fall.
